Student movement: In Three Days, 21 Bodies Buried in Dhaka

The bodies of 21 people who died in the violence centered on the anti-discrimination student movement were buried as berets.

Among them is a child. In the last three days, the police gave the bodies of these 21 people to Anjuman Mufidul Islam from the morgues of three government hospitals in Dhaka. Later the organization buried the bodies.


According to Anjuman Mufidul Islam sources, the bodies of 9 people including a child killed in the movement were given to them from the mortuary of Dhaka Medical College on Monday. On the same day two more bodies were given from the mortuary of Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College. A body was handed over from Sir Salimullah Medical College (Mitford) last Tuesday. And yesterday, Wednesday, 9 dead bodies were given to them for burial as bequests from Dhaka Medical College Mortuary. Later, the organization buried these 21 bodies in Rayerbagh area of ​​Mohammadpur at the place designated by the City Corporation.


Anjuman Mufidul Islam's burial service officer Kamrul Ahmed that Kamrul Ahmed confirmed that he received the bodies of 21 people as bereaved from the police in three days. However, he did not agree to give any detailed information about it.


A person associated with the management of bodies at the morgue of Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College told the media on condition of anonymity that the bodies of six people were brought to the morgue on Monday. Some of them had bullet marks on their bodies. Others had severe injuries on their bodies.
