Mobile internet restored after 10 days, closed Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp

 After being shut down for 10 days, mobile internet service has been started all over the country. Around 3 pm today, customers of all mobile phone operators started getting internet service.

arlier today, State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak held a meeting with representatives of various mobile phone operators, Association of Mobile Phone Telephone Operators Bangladesh and Mobile Financial Services at the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission in the capital today.


Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, TikTok, X (formerly Twitter) are closed in the country. However, most of the users reported the return of mobile internet by status on Facebook. They are mainly active on Facebook using VPN.


State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak announced that the mobile internet will be launched from 3:00 pm in a briefing at the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) at Agargaon in the capital on Sunday. Before that, he held a two-hour meeting with the officials of the mobile operators from 9 am to 11 am. It was decided there.


He said that the customers of all operators will get 5 GB data free for three days.


Mobile phone and broadband internet services were suspended across the country on Wednesday night (July 17) and the next day on Thursday after vandalism by miscreants in connection with the quota reform movement. Then on the night of July 23, limited broadband internet services were launched. And mobile phone internet service is going to be restarted from this afternoon. However, no decision has been made yet as to when social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and TikTok will be launched.
