Hefazat Islam

The organization has called for prayers across the country for their forgiveness and for the recovery of the injured. Amir Allama Shah Muhibbullah Babunagari and Secretary General Allama Shaikh Sajedur Rahman made this call in a statement on Thursday.

In the statement, they said, innumerable students of different schools, colleges and universities across the country were shot dead by the police and terrorists during this quota movement. The number of injured is thousands. The condition of many is very alarming. Mufti Jasim Uddin of Uttara, an activist of Hefazat Islam, is among the martyrs. Scores of students of Qaumi Madrasa were also injured. The number of dead bodies is constantly increasing. Another bloody Karbala has been written in the history of the country. We strongly condemn and protest the indiscriminate shooting of our children during the peaceful quota reform movement.

They also said, "All the Muslim brothers who were martyred in this movement, we call upon the Ulama Mashaikh and the countrymen to pray for their forgiveness and for the recovery of the injured tomorrow in mosques and madrassas across the country."

Mufti Kifayatullah Azhari, Publicity Secretary of Hefazat Islam, sent the statement to the media.
