 Allegations have been made against the president of the branch Chhatra League and some of his followers for beating up a student of Rajshahi University by calling him 'Shibir'-Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir for participating in the movement to reform the quota system in government jobs.

This incident happened last Tuesday in room number 230 of Bangabandhu Hall of the university. After the beating, he was dropped from the hall. The student has given a written complaint to the proctor of the university seeking security in this regard.

On the other hand, those who have been accused are Mustafizur Rahman Babu, President of Rabi Branch Chhatra League, Syed Ameer Ali Hall Branch Chhatra League Vice President Farhad Hossain Khan and Nawab Abdul Latif Hall Branch Chhatra League Organizing Secretary Shamim Reza.


According to the complaint and victim sources, the students blocked the railway track near the university to demand quota reform last Monday. Mustafa Mia participated in that movement. Masood Rana, a first-year student of the Islamic Studies department, told the matter to Chhatra League leader Farhad. Later Farhad called Mustafa and asked to meet. Alarmed by this, he told the matter to the senior student of his department, Arif Mahmud. Dr. University with Arif on Tuesday. Mu. He met in front of Shahidullah Academic Building. Arif's friend Chhatra League leader Shamim Reza was present there.


After telling Shamim the details of the incident, he called Farhad Hossain and said, 'I have reached the camp, shall I bring it?' After that, he was taken to the Tukitaki square of the university. Mostafizur Rahman Babu took him to that room and started checking his phone calling him 'Shibir'. However, they did not find any involvement with the camp after checking the phone. But after seeing the post about the quota movement on Facebook, the Chhatra League president got very angry. He started beating him for going to the movement. At this time, he said to Mustafa, "You camp, admit it."


They paused for some time and continued to beat Mustafa again. When Shamim hugged Reza after being beaten, he pushed him and sent him to Babu. At that time, Babu kept hitting him with a stick. At one stage, Farhad started kicking and punching him, and the others standing by also started beating him. After beating for 8 to 10 minutes, he took a break and started beating again. The Chhatra League leaders tortured him in this way for more than two hours.


During the beating, Chhatra League leader Farhad Mustafar said in his ear, "You are doing camp, admit it, then I will release you." And I will let you know who camps in your department.' At one stage of the torture, he was threatened to hand over to the police. Chhatra League leaders threatened him to leave the hall and said, 'You will leave the hall today.' Later, a follower of the Chhatra League president was sent along with him and he was thrown out of the common room of Shahid Shamsujjoha Hall of the university.


The victim student Mustafa Mia said, I am suffering from insecurity after this incident. When I was dropped from the hall, I fell into a housing crisis. As a result, I was forced to go home. Currently I am staying at home.
