Actions initiated
Palak has proposed the development of core banking software through the implementation of Postal Resource Planning (PRP) software. This initiative aims to bring the entire process under paperless management, eliminating any opaque procedures. The PRP software proposal is set to be submitted next week, with the goal of ensuring transparency and accountability within the postal system.
Significant Embezzlement Uncovered in Various Post Offices
Palak emphasized that even if Tk 10 crore is invested in this project, it could potentially prevent irregularities and corruption amounting to Tk 100 crore.
The State Minister reported that, according to the investigation, Moksed Alam embezzled Tk 1 crore 84 lakh from 51 people, including Parul Begum. Additionally, significant amounts of money have been embezzled from various post offices: Tk 29 crore from Chittagong GPO, Tk 9.5 crore from Noakhali Post Office, Tk 2 crore to 4 crore each from Barishal Medical College Post Office and Patuakhali Post Office, Tk 1 crore 84 lakh from Jashore, and Tk 73 lakh each from Shyampur and Dinajpur Post Offices.
