Sagar-Runi Murder Case: Probe Report Submission Extended to August 4

A Dhaka court today extended the deadline for submitting the probe report in the case of the murders of journalist couple Sagar Sarowar and Meherun Runi to August 4. This marks the 111th extension of the deadline. Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Mahbubul Haque issued the order as Investigation Officer Khondoker Md Shafiqul Alam, an Additional Superintendent of Police at RAB, failed to submit the report today. Previously, on May 16, the court had directed RAB to submit the report by today. Sagar, the news editor at Maasranga TV, and his wife Runi, a senior reporter at ATN Bangla, were killed on February 11, 2012, in their rented flat in West Razabazar, Dhaka.
