I will die if isolated from people

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today (26 June) said isolation from the public would be equivalent to her demise, asking the Special Security Force (SSF) not to detach her from the people.

"If you isolate me from the people, you don't need to shoot me—I will die anyway because they are my life," she said while addressing the Darbar of the SSF on its 38th founding anniversary at the Prime Minister's Office in the city.

The prime minister urged SSF personnel never to isolate her from the people, emphasizing that her strength in politics comes solely from public support. "Our political power is rooted in the support of the public. Therefore, ensure that I am never isolated from them," she stated.

She affirmed that the people supported her even when she was not in power.

In this context, the prime minister shared a story about a rickshaw puller who purchased a piece of land in her name with his hard-earned money. She later built a house on that land and gave it to the rickshaw puller, granting him ownership.

"I won't allow these people to be isolated from me. They give me the power to move forward. Everyone should keep this in mind," she added.

The prime minister also instructed SSF personnel to ensure the security of VVIPs with firmness, efficiency, discipline, honesty, responsibility, and utmost professionalism. "Without firmness, honesty, and responsibility, success will not be possible," she said.
