BNP: Arresting to halt criticism of authoritarian government, Mirza Alamgir
"Sending BNP leaders and activists to jail without bail in false cases has become the main program of the fascist Awami govt"

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir commented that sending BNP leaders and activists to jail without bail has become the main program of the fascist Awami government. He made this comment in a statement on Sunday. Fakhrul expressed deep concern over the denial of bail to Engineer Ishraq Hossain, a member of BNP's International Relations Committee and senior member of Dhaka Metropolitan South BNP in a case of Paltan police station and sending him to jail.

The Awami ruling group, which seized state power through dummy elections on 7th January, has started indescribable torture and oppression on the leaders and activists of opposition parties, including BNP, in various ways across the country to retain their illegal power. And the only purpose of such misdeeds is that the opposition parties of the country cannot criticize the dictatorial behavior of the occupying government. Sending BNP leaders and activists to jail without bail in false cases has become the main program of the fascist Awami government. Denying bail to Ishraq Hossain and sending him to jail is an unbroken part of that programme
